Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Breaking Free Book Portal ("we," "us," or "the platform") handles information when you use our marketplace for digital books, music, and related services.
Who we are
Breaking Free Book Portal is a marketplace where independent booksellers publish and sell digital content. Booksellers operate their own storefronts; we provide hosting, checkout, fulfillment tools, and platform administration.
Information we collect
- Bookseller accounts: name, email, profile details, Stripe Connect account identifiers, optional Ethereum wallet addresses, and listing activity.
- Buyer information: name, email, purchase history, and—for books—access credentials you choose for Heyzine flipbook delivery.
- Payment data: card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers. Optional ETH payments involve public blockchain transaction data and wallet addresses.
- Affiliate referrals: if you arrive via an affiliate link (
?ref=), we may store the referral identifier and associated wallet for commission tracking and payout. - Uploaded content: PDFs, audio files, cover art, and metadata you provide as a bookseller.
- Technical data: device/browser information, IP address, and logs needed for security, streaming access tokens, and fraud prevention.
How we use information
- Provide checkout, library access, and content delivery after purchase.
- Operate Stripe Connect payouts, optional ETH escrow, and affiliate commission processing.
- Moderate listings, handle unpublish requests, and support customer service.
- Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the service:
- Stripe for card payments and seller payouts.
- Heyzine to convert PDFs and grant buyer access to purchased flipbooks.
- Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, storage, and hosting.
- Blockchain networks when you use optional ETH checkout, listing fees, or affiliate payouts—transaction details are public on-chain.
- Booksellers receive order details needed to fulfill purchases they sell.
We do not sell your personal information.
Library accounts
Buyers can create a My Library account with email and password. Purchases are linked to that account by checkout email, so you can sign in from any device. If you checked out as a guest, register later with the same email to recover past purchases automatically.
Music streaming
Purchased music is delivered through personalized, time-limited stream links tied to your purchase. These links are not intended to be shared and may be revoked if abuse is detected.
Data retention
We retain account, order, and content records as long as needed to operate the platform, resolve disputes, meet legal requirements, and honor buyer access rights for prior purchases.
Security
We use industry-standard measures including Firebase security rules, authenticated API routes, and encrypted transport (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using the platform, you consent to those transfers as permitted by applicable law.
